With over 25 years of experience in environmental consultancy, Michael worked as an operational meteorologist, providing timely and crucial weather consultancy support to critical industrial operations worldwide. He is also a MetOcean Consultant who participated in many desktop studies for offshore and marine industries to ensure clients’ operation safety and structural design integrity.
Michael joined IBM as a Senior Sales Engineer early in 2017, one of the earlier members of IBM weather team in APAC. He has been playing an important role in assisting the sales team to develop and grow weather business in Asia Pacific, providing thought leadership in uncovering client requirements and shaping solutions for various industrial use cases. With his passion and expertise in environmental business solutions, Michael has helped many businesses transform the ways they view environmental intelligence and start to drive positive business outcomes with it.
Michael joined IBM Envizi team as a Senior Technical Specialist early in 2022. Being a sustainability Technical Specialist, Michael is passionate about assisting organizations to operationalize and accelerate their sustainability journey by leveraging IBM technologies, such as IBM sustainability software, including IBM Envizi ESG Suite, Environmental Intelligence Suite, Turbonomic etc.
Michael is a Fellow of Royal Meteorological Society (RMets), and Fellow and Chartered Scientist of Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST).
