Jamie Stewart

Weatherford

Jamie is currently based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where his role for Weatherford is as the Asia Business Manager for the Well Abandonment Group.

In a career currently spanning 39 years, his first role in 1985 started in Well Abandonment, doing a 22-year stint in the field as a well abandonment & fishing tool supervisor – primarily with Weatherford.

He then spent 4 years with Norse Cutting and Abandonment in Europe as a Project Manager for abrasive wellhead and conductor severance before joining Schlumberger in an 11-year career (8 of which were in Malaysia) project managing integrated subsea and platform well abandonment projects.

Prior to taking up his current role with Weatherford, Jamie spent the last 18 months with Well-Safe Solutions in Aberdeen as a senior abandonment engineer.

Notable well abandonment projects he has worked on include BP’s North West Hutton & Miller platforms in the UK, Cohasset in Canada and Shell’s Brent Field well abandonments in the UK spanning 120 wells.
