Jacob has more than 20 years of experience in infrastructure & natural resources, with experience in evaluating and developing projects in Australia, Asia & Africa.

Jacob’s experience covers more than $10 billion in natural resource and infrastructure investments, covering offshore wind, ports, mines, rail, property and logistics terminals.

Prior to co-founding DIRECT Infrastructure, Jacob most recently held executive leadership roles at Pacific National, where he was Head of Strategy & Corporate Development and then Head of Property & Terminals which included a national property and development pipeline.

At Rio Tinto, Jacob worked across a number of roles including General Manager, Corporate Development for the Iron Ore business (Perth), Business Executive to the Group CFO (London) and Evaluation Executive for the Group Investment Committee.

Prior to Rio Tinto, Jacob worked in Natural resources for Riversdale Mining as well as in management consulting and as a metallurgical engineer in the steel and aluminium industries.

Jacob holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Metallurgy (UNSW Honours) and MBA (AGSM).

Jacob holds dual Australian and Dutch (EU) citizenships.
