Ian has led Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy & Fertilisers since July 2016. Prior to this, he held WesCEF’s Chief Operating Officer role, following three years as the Managing Director of Wesfarmers’ Chemicals and Fertilisers division.
During Ian's more than 40 years with Wesfarmers, he has held a wide range of executive, operational and commercial management roles, primarily within the chemical, energy and fertiliser businesses.
Ian is the Chairman of three Wesfarmers joint venture boards: Covalent Lithium, Queensland Nitrates and Australian Gold Reagents. He is also a board member of industry body, Chemistry Australia, and Chair of the Australian Chapter of the Australia-Chile Business Council. He is a former board member of the International Fertilizer Association, Kwinana Industries Council and the Australian Institute of Management WA.
Ian holds a Bachelor of Science (double chemistry major) degree and has undertaken post graduate business studies. He is a graduate of the INSEAD Advanced Management Programme.
