Since founding ATTAR in 1986 Gary has been Chairman and Technical Director overseeing the use of Acoustic Emission in a range of applications as well as a materials failure analysis service. He is a former Federal President of the Australian Institute for Non-Destructive Testing, past editor of Non-Destructive Testing Australia and Chairman of NATA’s NDT Accreditation Advisory Committee.

ATTAR stands as Australia's largest training provider for NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) technicians, boasting a team of internationally acclaimed NDT consultants. Additionally, it employs a specialised team of Materials, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineers, who excel in Materials selection and Failure analysis. The ATTAR Condition Monitoring (CM) department employs Acoustic Emission Testing (AET) for evaluating various structures and equipment, including Elevated Work Platforms (EWP), atmospheric tanks, pressure vessels (both steel and Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP)), and undertakes long-term/permanent monitoring of critical infrastructure such as bridges, cranes, jetties, transformers, and rotating equipment. The CM department also offers specialised assessment of in-service overhead power lines.
