Ashley Mcdonald

Ashley has over 30 years’ experience in the maritime industry across defence, shipping and ports, and his roles have included Ships Master, Marine Pilot, Harbour Master and Executive GM. Having served as an Officer with the Royal Australian Navy for a number of years in Western Australia, Ashley also spent two years at Fremantle Ports where – as Deputy Harbour Master – he was responsible for operations in the Inner and Outer harbours, including the Australian Marine Complex precinct. Ashley has worked in eight ports across Australia and New Zealand and has a depth of knowledge in port infrastructure and operations, trade, offshore support and maritime logistics. Ashley has a degree in Oceanography and post-graduate qualifications in Business, and his professional memberships include the Nautical Institute and the Institute of Directors (NZ). Ashley currently serves as DIRECT Infrastructure’s Director for ports and supply chain and is key member of its executive team. DIRECT Infrastructure is an Australian specialist renewable energy developer.
