April has a technical background in life sciences with a PhD in Cell Biology and postdoc in Immunology, which laid the foundation for a few years in healthcare commercialisation in Scotland, followed by an advisory role with growing businesses across Scotland in sectors like engineering and manufacture at Scotland’s economic development agency. April moved back to Australia in 2019, after almost 20 years in Scotland, to take up the role of ANZ Country Head and Investment Lead for Scottish Development International, supporting Scotland’s energy transition to net zero through trade and investment activity across ANZ.
