Perth, WA: Global cultural strategist and Director of RedHead Communications, Tanya Finnie, will host Australia’s first ever 2-day Diversity and Inclusion Summit at the Pan Pacific, Perth, held on the 29th and 30th of September 2022. The Summit event touts the theme, “Organisational Inclusion in Practice”, setting out to impart practical inclusion strategies to individuals and organisations.

The must-attend event features 25 wide-ranging Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) experts with regard to industry expertise and personal and cultural backgrounds. The speakers will deliver case studies, panel discussions, and Mastermind sessions revealing effective inclusion practices for individuals looking to take away strategies to improve their workplace inclusion initiatives.

A distinctive feature of the Summit is its commitment to accessibility and inclusion for all attendees. There will be captions for all videos, AUSLAN (Australian Sign Language) for all talks, and ramp accessibility, among other carefully considered factors to ensure the utmost inclusion and accessibility. A driving force for securing the Pan Pacific as the Summit venue hosts was their commitment to inclusivity, specifically through recruiting people with special needs, including the capable and bubbly Laura Williams who has Down Syndrome.

A Perth-local and immigrant, Tanya hails from a widely diverse cultural background with over 20 years of global experience working in leadership and cultural domains. She has identified an absence of diversity, equity, and inclusion events in Australia of this calibre. “While there have been breakfasts and half-day events championing the cause, no event has ever presented a definitively diverse speaker line-up with a focus for practical strategies, let alone a 2-day event happening under one roof. This Summit aims to break the mould.” – Tanya Finnie.

Susan Kreemer Pickford, UK-born Summit speaker and General Manager for WA Engineers Australia, sits among the distinguished speaker line-up. She will deliver a critical case study on seeking to understand your industry to drive organisational improvement and connection. Specifically, the barriers faced by women and culturally and linguistically diverse employees. Susan recently called on Australians to step up-with regards to cultural inclusion on ABC Radio, particularly regarding the culture of sexual harassment and the steps towards fixing this. Susan is engaged with Kaleidoscope, Red Cross, and HOST International to help migrant and refugee engineers access new networks and mentors from across the engineering profession. Engineers Australia offers free skills assessments for eligible candidates, recognising their overseas qualifications and competencies.

Thus far, the Summit is proudly sponsored by Brunel, 30 Foot Drop, Know Limits, and RedHead Communications. The Summit provides a wide range of sponsorship opportunities, from Platinum-support levels to ala-carte options, allowing businesses to showcase their commitment to championing diversity and inclusion while benefiting from face-to-face interaction with aligned individuals and organisations.

“I am so excited for this event! Such an amazing group involved in making this event a reality.” – Sonya Liddle, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advisor, Asia Pacific BP.
