their two-year Forward Work Plans at AOG 2020 Exhibition & Conference.

  • AOG 2020 was welcomed by Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DJTSI)Executive Director Industry Development John O’Hare and Woodside Energy Production Support General Manager Gordon Mathwin.

The 39th annual Australasian Oil and Gas (AOG) Exhibition & Conference is set to highlight industry trends, employment opportunities and the future strategy of some of Australia’s biggest LNG operators including Woodside Energy, Chevron Australia, Shell Australia and Santos.

The lineup for the three-day event, which runs from March 11 to 13 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, was announced by Government and industry representatives at a launch in Perth last night.

The theme for AOG 2020 is ‘ForWArd Together – Driving Opportunity, Generating Confidence’. Integral to this is the presentations of Operator Forward Work Plans at the event– which is the next step in the WA Government’s LNG Jobs Taskforce vision.

Presentations will take place at the event via ‘Operator Briefing Sessions’, giving attendees the opportunity to engage directly with the four operators presenting Forward Work Plans – two-year outlooks designed to facilitate improved planning of potential contracting activity and supply chain capability.

The Perth launch was an opportunity for guests to hear from DJTSI Executive Director Industry Development John O’Hare, and Woodside Energy Production Support General Manager Gordon Mathwin.

Speaking at the launch, Mr O’Hare provided detail on the new LNG Taskforce initiatives to be detailed at AOG, saying the event was essential for the supply chain opportunities of Western Australian businesses and helped to create local jobs.

“We are proud sponsors of AOG, and with the increased presence and participation of the LNG Jobs Taskforce we expect this involvement to deepen.

“The LNG Taskforce exhibition stand will host Shell, Santos, Inpex, Woodside, Chevron and DJTSI.”

Also speaking at the launch, Mr Mathwin said Woodside was proud to continue its support for the event as platinum sponsor in 2020.

“AOG 2020 will be bigger and better than in recent years thanks to the involvement of the LNG Taskforce, which is working closely with conference organisers to facilitate improved engagement, transparency and collaboration between operators and the supply chain.”

AOG Event Director Bill Hare said the oil and gas sector was experiencing a resurgence in Western Australia, where the industry had strong ties to local communities.

“AOG is a vital platform to aid driving this growth, and is globally significant given WA is home to some of the world’s biggest gas resources,” Mr Hare said.

Ahead of the launch, Premier Mark McGowan said in a statement for the AOG the Exhibition and Conference was a vital platform to drive growth.

“Growth of the LNG sector in WA provides a unique opportunity for complementary industries to locate to WA and develop and diversify to support the construction, operations, maintenance and decommissioning phases of the project life cycles.”
