The Singapore-listed, Western Australia-headquartered construction and engineering specialist has won a string of major contracts with leading resource projects across the country.

In mid-November Civmec announced it has landed approximately $45 million in new contracts and additional work on existing projects including packages on the South Hedland Power Station, Shell’s Prelude Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) Project and Alcoa’s Kwinana Filtration Plant.

Key contract work secured by the company, which operates a world-class construction and fabrication facility at Henderson to the south of Perth, includes:

Prelude

The fabrication of 17 subsea jumper spools and associated lifting equipment for Shell’s Prelude FLNG Project under a contract with Technip.

Work will commence immediately, and this work adds to the list of contracts Civmec has already secured on the Prelude project.

South Hedland Power Station

Civmec landed is third contract on the South Hedland Power Station with the award of the Structural, Mechanical, Piping and Electrical (SMP&E) package of works under a contract with IHI Engineering Australia Pty Ltd.

The project is commencing immediately, with the scope of works includes all SMP&E works for the combined cycle gas power station, – providing the South Hedland facility with a total power generating capacity of approximately 150 MW.

BP Kwinana Refinery

Civmec has been awarded the supply and delivery of precast units for the BP Refinery in Kwinana.

Alcoa Kwinana Filtration Plant

Civmec will undertake the assembly of a Mobile Conveyor Bridge, Emergency Radial Stacker and associated components at Alcoa’s Kwinana Filtration Plant, south of Perth.

Works are scheduled for completion by January 2016.

Citic Pacific Mining

A contract was awarded to Civmec for the design, fabrication and installation works for the Sludge Treatment Plant.

Civmec will undertake the concrete works on the AngloGold Ashanti Australia Limited – Independence Group NL Tropicana Gold Mine, under a contract awarded by Lycopodium.

Perth Stadium

Civmec has been awarded an increased scope by Brookfield Multiplex on the Perth Stadium project works which are currently underway.

The majority of the contract awards reflect the changing focus of many resource projects from a construction to an operational phase – a major theme of the AOG conference in 2016
