Australia’s largest Oil & Gas event kicks off next week

Mar 5, 2015 Event News

The dramatic fall in crude oil prices and its effect on the local petroleum industry will be amongst the many critical discussions that will take place when Australia’s biggest oil & gas event kicks off in Perth next week. Other questions posed include;  what changes will FLNG bring to the petroleum industry, what is the best way to deal with FIFO mental health issues, are Australian service and supply companies getting a fair share of local project work and what is the latest and greatest in subsea technology

Running from Wednesday March 11 through Friday March 13, the Australasian Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference (AOG) 2015 will bring together leading industry specialists from around the globe to discuss the state of the oil & gas sector at one of the most critical periods in recent memory.

Representatives from companies of the calibre of Shell, Chevron, Woodside, Rio Tinto, INPEX, Origin Energy, Carnarvon Petroleum and world-leading oilfield service companies like Aker Solutions, DNV, FMC, GE Oil & Gas, Subsea7, Technip and Wood Group Kenny, government officials from around the world and members from key centres of learning, will all come together at AOG to make it one of the key international industry forums in 2015.

“AOG 2015 will be a record setting event in terms of industry participation and expected attendance,” AOG Event Director at Diversified Communications, Bill Hare, said. “But just as importantly, it will provide a unique opportunity for leading industry voices from around the globe to come together to discuss the critical issues facing the oil and gas sector at this time.”

Mr Hare said it had been proven many times through AOG’s 32 year history that the sharing of knowledge and ideas at major industry events like this is an important component in the process of overcoming the decline in confidence that will often accompany an industry downturn.

“There is no doubt there is a lot of uncertainty in the sector at present, but it is still a very strong industry, with many, many opportunities for those already involved in it and those looking to become a part of it.

“Australia alone has many billions of dollars of new LNG projects under construction, and a number of others under consideration. With the exciting future of FLNG technologies in Australia and new discoveries like Phoenix South, Senecio you can see we have a very bright future to look forward to.”

More than 17,000 attendees are forecast to walk through the doors of the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre (PCEC) next week to hear high-quality conference presentations, visit with 620 companies from 25 nations, to network, and most importantly exchange critical knowledge.

“It is a must attend event for the oil and gas sector. You can’t afford to miss it,” Mr Hare concluded.
